Draw (freehand, with ruler and protractor, and with technology) geometric shapes with given conditions. Focus on constructing triangles from three measures of angles or sides, noticing when the conditions determine a unique triangle, more than one triangle, or no triangle.

ACOS 2009 Correlation
Sixth Grade

6.1 - Measuring angles to the nearest degree using a protractor.

Seventh Grade

7.2 - Graphing polygons and their transformations on the Cartesian plane by plotting the vertices.

8.1 - Drawing geometric shapes and figures when given specified components, including base and height.

Eighth Grade

7.4 - Applying the triangle inequality theorem.

8.3 - Constructing congruent and similar polygons, congruent angles, congruent segments, and parallel and perpendicular lines.

Geometry

8 - Apply properties of special right triangles, including 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 triangles, to find missing side lengths.

My Humble Opinion
New objective!!! 7th grade had to draw in the old ACOS, but not with technology, and the triangle inequalities have been moved down from 8th grade.
