Interwrite Lesson
Find the Perimeter and Area of Quadrilaterals
Students will learn about the different types of quadrilaterals and be able to distinguish between each. They will also work with forumulas to find the perimeter and area of each shape.

Graphing calculator lesson
Dividing up the area
In this TI-73 activity, students will use the Geoboard application to compare the areas of squares, rectangles, and parallelograms to the area of the triangles that divide each of them. They are to determine a formula for the area of a triangle. Then students will compare parallelograms and rectangles that have the same area to determine the relationship between the two quadrilaterals. As an extension, students will use what they have learned in the activity to find the area of complex figures.
